Welcome to my personal web page.

Who am I?
My name is Luca. I come from from Udine, a small and beautiful city situated in the North-East of Italy. I look like this.

Let’s talk about work
I am currently a research fellow in Prof. Maha Farhat's laboratory, at the Department of Biomedical bioinformatics of Harvard university. Right now I am studying the evolution of antibiotic resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis.

Up to now (Jan 2016) I have published 14 scientific papers. If you want to take a look at them, please visit my Google Scholar profile. All the links to the papers are there. If your institution does not have access to one or more of the journals where my papers are published, please write me an e-mail at luca_freschi (AT) hms (DOT) harvard (DOT) edu.

Here is the list of the posters I presented and the talks I gave around the world (view).

I wrote a few softwares. Feel free to have a look at my github page.

Whenever I find an interesting article/talk/video and so on, I do try to share it on my twitter account (@ejfresch).

If you want to know even more about me, you should probably read my CV (last update: 09/2016 -- I should really update it!).

What do I do when I do not work?
I really like practicing sports, visiting museums, programming, travelling, learning foreign languages and…taking a lot of photos.

If you like photography too, you might want to have a look at my instagram (@ejfresch) and flickr (lfreschi) accounts. If you wish, leave me a comment. I really appreciate.

Why my web site is on Poisson? After all I am a biologist, not a mathematician!
When I was in Pisa, the Department of Mathematics (DM) was my second home. Being there every day was a fantastic experience for me, both from a personal and scientific perspective. Further, I had the priviledge to become a "macchinista" (system administrator of the student network), and I think I was the first biologist to be part of this team. There is no better place than Poisson for my web pages!
